Damien Lewis is a number one bestselling author whose books have been translated into over forty languages worldwide. For decades he worked as a war and conflict reporter for the world’s major broadcasters, reporting from across Africa, South America, the Middle and Far East, winning numerous awards.

F or two decades Damien Lewis worked as a war and conflict reporter for major broadcasters, reporting from across Africa, South America, the Middle and Far East, during which time he won numerous awards for his journalism.
In 2001 he wrote his first book, Slave, which was an international bestseller translated into some forty languages, and which was made into a film (I Am Slave) and a stage play (Slave). In 2003 he wrote his first book about elite military operations, Operation Certain Death, which was a Sunday Times top ten bestseller, followed by the number one bestseller Zero Six Bravo.
Since then Lewis has penned a dozen related bestsellers, including Operation Relentless, the story of the DEA’s hunt for the world’s most-wanted arms-dealer, Russian billionaire Viktor Bout (presently being made into a TV drama series).
He presently has several other books in various stages of development as TV drama series or movies, including a trilogy of films being scripted by Paramount Pictures.
In addition, his own life story as a war reporter is being developed as a TV drama series by foremost British-based TV and film company. He has scripted some of his own work and is performing the role of Executive Producer on some of his film projects.

He is a member of the Society of Authors, the National Union of Journalists, the Director’s Guild of Great Britain, the Victory Services Club, the Royal Overseas League and 21 SAS Artist’s Rifles Clubhouse.
He is also Patron to several charities related to his writing, and he raises funds for charities associated with his work. He talks widely to audiences about his work, including the Theatre Royal Bath, the National Army Museum, The Royal Geographical Society, the Hay Festival, Edinburgh Festival, and at Speakers Festivals world-wide. He is married with four children and lives in Dorset, in the UK.
